- Use the Development Planning Checklist for guidance in completing the Development Planning Discussion Guide.
- CSL has adopted the GROW model to outline Goals, assess current Reality, explore Options, and map a Way forward.
- Michelle’s goal is to move into digital communications.
- Her reality is that her current role doesn’t allow her much opportunity to grow in digital communications.
- Her options include working toward a Management Level 7 role in digital communications or a Professional Level 7 role in digital communications.
- Her way forward is taking development actions that will help her gain relevant experience in digital communications.
- Michelle should complete the Development Planning Discussion Guide to help shape development discussions and plans, including identifying skill sets she wants to focus on developing, such as the following:
- Digital marketing
- Web analytics
- Problem-solving
- Verbal communication
- Strategy
- Determine key points for the discussion with her people leader.
